Take a Dip in a New Revenue Stream
Owning or managing a business means constant vigilance when it comes to the bottom line. Cutting costs and lowering expenses are always on the agenda at all levels of business operations. And in the call center environment this means taking advantage of "dip" fees that telcos pay to provide their subscribers with caller ID information. A "dip" is the process by which differing telco companies exchange caller ID information. This process is completed on a call by call basis and provides the correct name and number to caller ID subscribers. Each of these transactions is fee based with the fees set by each telco. The "dip" occurs when the call recipient's telco gains access to the originating caller's telco database. The Alpha field information is then provided to the caller ID subscriber. Dip fees typically range from $.001 - $.012 with an average fee of $.00322. Many consumers are expressing increased frustration with this process as their telcos are opting not to pay the "dip" fee and returning caller ID information that is "unavailable" or "out of area." These consumers pay a monthly fee for caller ID services that are unreliable and inconsistent. By taking charge of this process, your call center can gain full control of the caller ID name field and accurately and consistently convey the originating party of the call. This improves list penetration, answer rates and program performance. This control over the caller ID alpha field not only improves your success rate, it ends compliance issues. Take advantage of the "dip" system that is already in place to gain greater control over the alpha field, comply with call regulations, improve project performance and increase your bottom line.
